What are the rules for Floating Holidays in Alberta? If an employer wants to replace a general holiday with a floating holiday, are we able to do so? If so, are there requirements for rolling over or paying out unused floating holiday time?

You have an error on your Stat holidays for Ontario and all of Canada. Boxing Day is a Statutory holiday for everyone.Stat implies they are legislated by federal law for all workers.

Canada day falls middle of the week on a Wednesday. If employee and employer are in agreement, can this holiday be observed on an alternate day?

Why was Victoria Day this year, 2020, set on the weekend of May 16???
This is supposed to be the queens birthday, May 24 which naturally falls the following weekend.
Who would change that date to the weekend before?
This smacks of utter stupidity and dishonors the actual birthday of the queen.

Victoria Day is legislated to occur on a Monday, on or before May 24 (but not after). Unfortunately, although it is unofficially considered the start of summer in Canada, the weather is often still cold and not very summery in many parts of the country. That's why we drink beer to warm up.

Why is Queen Victoria's birthday being celebrated a week early, the following weekend contains the 24th which is when the day should be celebrated not the 18th. When we have had this before we always get bad weather, and if we celebrate on the correct weekend the weather is much improved.

I'm an employee with full deductions every payday. I've never received holiday pay for five yrs.am I eligible for backpay?

Hello, I currently live in BC. could someone clarify what I am to be paid if I work on a statutory holiday and I am eligible for a stat pay?
If I work I understand I should be paid:
1,5 of my hourly pay rate x hours worked plus a regular payday. Meaning 2,5 of my hourly pay x hours worked. is that correct?

Hi, if I normally have every Monday off and I'm not a federal employee, do I get another day off? Like the Friday or Saturday before?
Thanks for your time,
Cher

On your comment in regards to turkeys on thanks giving , and everyone is entitled to there opinion but my argument to killing of so many turkeys is it's better than killing that many pigs for just a couple hams ? Isn't it.

If your payday falls on Christmas day is there a set number of banking days needed for that pay. For eg christmas day is Wednesday when are you supposed to get your pay check and what date should it be dated for. This is for an independent store.
