Canadian Statutory Holidays in 2010
In 2010 New Year's Day falls on a Friday starting off the year by a long weekend! Then there are no stat holidays until Family Day (3nd Monday of February) in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario and Islander Day in PEI. The other provinces have to wait until Good Friday on April 2.
The Victoria Day statutory holiday in 2010 is actually on May 24 so it will be a "real" May-two-four long weekend this year.
Canada day in 2010 is on a Thursday. Will everyone take Friday off to make it a four day weekend? Probably yes:)
Then Labour Day and Thanksgiving on the Mondays and finally Christmas Day on Dec 25, which is a Saturday. Yikes. Make sure to talk to your HR department or employer to arrange your time off because Christmas Day is not a weekday in 2010 and it's not always obvious what day emplyees are entitled to take off.
